Job summary

PRT Armstrong is hiring seasonal Forest Nursery Workers to support our tree seedling harvest, starting late October. You will lift and pack seedlings for reforestation across North America, learning nursery activities with full training provided.

This is a fast-paced outdoor role offering physical work and a chance to contribute to reforestation efforts. Reliable transportation and ability to work in all weather are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have reliable transportation to PRT Armstrong daily.
• Capable of outdoor work in all weather conditions.
• Able to stand for 8-hour shifts and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Good manual dexterity and eyesight.
• Team-oriented with a willingness to learn and contribute to forest regeneration.

Responsibilities

• Lifting and packing tree seedlings for reforestation.
• Support seedling production in greenhouses and outdoor areas.
• Learn forest nursery activities and work independently and efficiently.

A Day in the Life:

FOREST NURSERY WORKER

We are currently seeking to fill an existing vacancy on our team.

PRT Armstrong is looking for seasonal Forest Nursery Workers to help with our upcoming tree seedling Harvest starting at the end of October. If you want a physical, fast-paced outdoor job that makes a positive environmental impact, this is for you! You’ll be lifting tree seedlings for reforestation across North America. Candidates should have a desire and keenness to learn about the forest seedling nursery activities, work independently and efficiently. No specific work experience is needed – we'll provide full training.

Your Role & What You'll Do

Your main duties will involve:

• Lifting and packing tree seedlings.
• Supporting tree seedling production in greenhouses and outdoor areas.
• Learning about forest nursery activities.
• Working independently and efficiently.
• Committing to quality and safety in a safe work environment.
• Please note, this role is not eligible for relocation or accommodation support.

• Reliable transportation to get to the PRT Armstrong site daily
• Interested in and able to work in all types of outdoor environmental conditions.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks throughout an 8-hour work shift.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs repeatedly through the entire shift.
• Appropriate work attire.
• Good manual dexterity and eyesight.
• A team-oriented personality with a positive attitude.
• A desire to learn and contribute to forest regeneration.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary information: $ 18.92/HOUR and transitioning to piecework with greater earning potential
