Concorde Group is seeking experienced servers for its catering team on a seasonal, part-time basis in Calgary. You will greet guests, deliver food and beverages, and maintain a high standard of service in a fast-paced event setting.

Applicants should have 1–2 years of serving or bartending experience, Alberta ProServe certification, and the ability to multitask while upholding safety and sanitation practices. Weekend shifts and a valid 18+ eligibility are required.

Qualifications

ABOUT THE POSITION

Concorde Group's Catering department is looking for experienced servers to fill out their team on a seasonal part-time basis. Servers are responsible for several functions including, but not limited to, providing exceptional customer service to all guests in a prompt and friendly manner, following all company policies and regulations, as well as the policies of the event location, and maintaining cleanliness of all service areas.

All events will be taking place from Nov 7th - Dec 13th at Spruce Meadows. Staff are responsible for providing their own uniforms in accordance with our specifications (aprons can be provided). All staff are also responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the event venue.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Greet guests in a prompt and welcoming manner.
• Provide the highest level of customer service to all guests, while maintaining a personable and professional image representative of the company's values.
• Possess an extensive knowledge of all food and beverage items being served and the ability to accommodate all dietary requests and allergies.
• Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner.
• Quality check tables to ensuring guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
• Address guest complaints with poise, professionalism and understanding. Establish a suggested resolution and communicate effectively with management.
• Assist with the setup and take down of events, ensuring all equipment, tables, and service areas are properly prepared and cleared.
• Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers in peaks of business or as unexpected situations arise.
• Ensure section is clear and reset through service.
• Perform side duties which may include, but is not limited to: polishing cutlery, glassware, plate ware, during and at the end of your shift.
• Maintain cleanliness of all service areas.
• Execute ad-hoc tasks are required.

WHAT YOU HAVE

• 1-2 years' experience serving or bartending in a comparable environment.
• Must have a basic knowledge of event space and service procedures and functions.
• Strong verbal communication skills with ability to establish and develop relationships with team members, partners, and guests.
• Ability to maintain professionalism, control, and composure in difficult and stressful situations.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Valid Alberta ProServe certification.
• Ability to work in a standing position for entire duration of the shift.
• Capacity to safely lift and easily maneuver potentially heavy trays of food and drinks.
• Must be over 18 as alcohol service and open scheduling availability is a requirement.
