Job summary

WSP is seeking an Archaeology Field Technician I for the 2026 field season in Southwestern Ontario, with bases in Burlington, Mississauga, Whitby and Richmond Hill. You will participate in Stage 2 surveys, Stage 3 assessments, and Stage 4 mitigations, under supervision, gaining hands-on field experience.

This seasonal role requires physical stamina, teamwork, valid Ontario driver's license, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Archaeology, Anthropology or related field.
• One field season of archaeological experience in Ontario preferred.
• Valid Ontario driver’s licence and clean driving record.
• Ability to perform physically demanding field tasks (shoveling, screening).
• Willingness to travel and stay in hotels for out-of-town projects.

Responsibilities

• Complete archaeological fieldwork under supervision, including Stage 2 surveys and Stage 4 mitigations.
• Support Field Supervisors and assist where needed.
• Collaborate with field technicians and other teams as required.
• Maintain safety and professional conduct at all times.
• Work outdoors in varied weather and terrain.
