Job summary

WSP is seeking an Archaeology Field Technician I for the 2026 field season across Southwestern Ontario, including Burlington, Mississauga, Whitby, and Richmond Hill. The role involves Stage 2 surveys to Stage 4 mitigations, with fieldwork starting in Spring 2026.

This seasonal position operates under LiUNA bargaining terms, offering a competitive hourly rate above industry standards. You will complete fieldwork under supervision, support Field Supervisors, and work outdoors in varied weather.

Qualifications

• Must have field archaeology experience or seasonal fieldwork.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting up to 40 lbs).
• Valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Complete archaeological fieldwork under supervision (Stage 2 surveys, Stage 3 site assessments, Stage 4 mitigations).
• Support Field Supervisors and assist where needed.
• Participate in a team environment and maintain high safety standards.
