Job summary

Sobeys Inc. is hiring a Seafood Clerk in Canada to greet customers, weigh and price seafood, and maintain the counter with freshness and variety. You will learn Sobeys’ standards and safety protocols while working in a fast-paced team environment.

You’ll handle seafood products, assist customers with knowledge on grilling and nutrition, and participate in maintaining a clean, organized counter. Training is provided and teamwork is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Preference will be given to candidates with previous Seafood experience
• Safeway/Sobeys training will be provided

Responsibilities

• Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations
• Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner
• Demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Safeway’s programs
• Use of hand wrapper and scale
• Pricing seafood for sale
• Washing and cutting fish for seafood counter
• Filling counter and showcases
• Cleaning and sanitizing work area
• Working with raw as well as cooked seafood
