What You'll Be Doing

As a member of CIBC’s Digital Technology team, the Scrum Master is responsible for supporting teams in developing engaging digital experiences, supporting marketing campaigns, and client journey optimizations. The role makes decisions that influence department strategy, regularly recommending new processes to facilitate and champion the scrum process. The Scrum Master applies advanced concepts to follow the values, principles, and practices of agile scrum delivery that is part of the agile delivery framework. Reporting into the Sr. Manager- Agile Delivery and Operational Excellence, the role acts as a resource integrator for their area in analyzing existing processes, implementing improvements, and removing impediments to ensure timely delivery of deliverables and maximizing business value.

How You'll Succeed

• Agile Expertise – Be the expert in scrum methodology. Facilitate a range of scrum activities, including Sprint planning, Daily Scrums, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement. Actively promote agile and scrum methodologies across the business to enable quick, effective, and meaningful transformation.
• Collaboration – Work closely with development teams and product owners to discover and implement scrum best practices. Communicate key updates to stakeholders, and balance demands as needed. Collaborate with Agile Coaches to ensure alignment with the Agile Delivery Framework, and provide ongoing feedback.
• Coaching – Leverage your expertise to educate individuals and teams about agile and scrum methodologies. Coach development teams to implement scrum practices to drive change. Help your team achieve higher levels of scrum maturity.

Who You Are

• You can demonstrate experience in: Minimum 5 years as a Scrum Master in banking and financial industry, experience with People Change Management methodologies, tools (Confluence, JIRA, Planview, ALM, Version One). Familiarity with Agile techniques such as User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing (CICT), Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games, and approaches like XP, Kanban, Crystal, and FDD. Assets include coaching multiple teams, remote team experience, scaled Agile environments, and knowledge of Build and Deployment Automation tools.
