Job summary

Interpro Prairie Recycling Inc. in Camrose, Alberta is seeking a motivated yard worker to assist with maintenance, sorting and loading scrap metals. You will handle metals in the yard, cut scrap steel with a torch, and ensure safety procedures are followed.

The role requires physical endurance and flexibility to work days, nights and weekends. No experience is required, though prior scrapyard or manufacturing exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• No experience necessary; prior scrapyard/manufacturing experience is an asset.
• Able to meet physical demands including standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 12 hours a day.
• Strong communication skills in writing and speaking; ability to use radios.
• Reliable transportation; site not accessible by transit.
• Safety-conscious and able to follow SOPs, SWPs and JSAs.

Responsibilities

• Clean around the mill and assist with general maintenance in the yard.
• Sort, stack, and move materials; inspect non-ferrous metals.
• Prepare materials for loading/unloading; cut scrap steel with a torch.
• Keep equipment serviced; conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Load/unload materials and assist in mechanics or truck shops as needed.
• Work a flexible schedule including days, nights and weekends.
