Job summary

Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools is seeking a Kitchen Staff member for the School Nutrition Program to prepare and serve healthy meals in a clean, organized kitchen on school days.

You will assist with menus, inventory, orders, food safety, and deliveries while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency in a school setting. The role supports student nutrition and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of dietary allergies and food safety regulations.
• Previous experience in food preparation and cooking, including large volume cooking.
• Experience with menu planning and meal preparation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective time management and multitasking abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Physical ability to lift 20lbs regularly.

School Nutrition Program – Kitchen Staff

Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools covers a geographical area that includes the regional communities of Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge, Sexsmith, and Spirit River. We are a team of 600 staff who provide quality teaching and learning experiences for approximately 5400 students.

Position Overview

The School Nutrition Program Kitchen Staff work under the direction of the School Nutrition Program Coordinator to prepare and deliver a healthy range of food items in a clean and organized food service environment.

• Assist with confirming weekly menus
• Assist in maintaining inventory and complete weekly food and supply orders
• Prepare meals and snacks according to approved menus
• Maintain a clean, sanitized and organized kitchen area
• Dishwashing
• Follow food safety, sanitation and nutrition guidelines
• School deliveries
• Perform essential functions
• Regular and reliable attendance
• Other duties as assigned
• Must be able to lift 20lbs regularly
