School District 71 (Comox Valley) invites applications for the position of Program Worker - Food Services, 20 hours per week. The current rate of pay is $28.29 per hour plus 16.3% in lieu of benefits.

The role supports menu planning, communication with parents, and food service operations within the school environment. Qualifications include Grade 12 and Food Safe Level 2, plus ability to work independently or in a team and liaise with suppliers.

Formación

• Grade 12 education and Food Safe Level 2.
• Experience in food services and with students.
• Valid BC driver’s license and a personal vehicle.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsabilidades

• Duties are performed under supervision of the Principal/Vice Principal; completes program-related administrative tasks including menu planning, documentation and communication with parents/caregivers.
• Establishes and maintains effective relationships with students to inspire and empower them to eat a varied diet; encourages participation in kitchen and garden.
• Facilitates the School Food Program and activities according to procedures.
• Manages inventory and orders supplies from suppliers; shops locally as needed; supports BC food production where possible.
• Follows health and safety standards for food service sanitation, handling and storing of food; leads volunteers and student helpers to follow standards.
• Keeps records and maintains confidentiality of student information; performs other duties as assigned.
