Job summary

Pembina Trails School Division is hiring a Head Caretaker to oversee the routine maintenance and operation of the school’s facilities and to assist administration with daily operations. The role reports to the Operations Supervisor and supervises cleaning staff to ensure building safety and cleanliness.

The position requires communication with Principal and Facilities & Operations staff, day shift availability, and the ability to respond to emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Desirable: approved building operations and power engineering course.
• Valid 5th Class Power Engineers’ Certificate from Manitoba preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with Principal and Operations Supervisor about maintenance work orders and school operations.
• Ensures safety and comfort of facility; inspects HVAC, building grounds, and safety systems.
• Maintains cleanliness and order, coordinates seasonal cleaning and breaks with staff.
• Maintains grounds, equipment, and supplies; directs caretaking staff and provides training.
