Job summary

Valley Transportation is hiring school bus drivers for Deep River and surrounding areas. This part-time role offers split shifts, free in-house training and licence upgrading to a B licence, and the chance to bring your children to work.

Workdays are Monday to Friday with morning and afternoon shifts. Enjoy driving within your own community, with 187 working days per year and no required evenings or holidays.

Qualifications

• Clear English communication is required for safety and training purposes.
• Be dependable, caring, and committed to rider safety.
• G-class Ontario driver's licence with at least three years of driving experience.
• Be able to pass a Criminal Background Check & Vulnerable Sector Screening.
• Be able to pass a MTO Medical Screening.

Responsibilities

• Drive school routes in the local community.
• Provide safe and reliable transportation for students.
• Work split shifts Monday to Friday, mornings and afternoons.

To qualify you must:

• Be dependable, caring, and committed to the safety of your riders
• Ability to communicate clearly in English is required for safety and training purposes.
• Be a team player, able to work well with the public and children
• Hold a full G-class Ontario driver's licence with at least three years of driving experience as a licensed driver (current G2 holders will not qualify for the upgrading process, must carry a full G licence)
• Be able to provide a clear Criminal Background Check & Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Be able to pass a Ministry of Transportation Medical Screening
• Be available Monday to Friday for split shifts, shiftsgenerally 1.5 hours - 2.5 hours in length and occur between the hours of 6:30am-9am and again from 2pm to 5pm
