Job summary

Voyago in Ottawa is recruiting School Bus Drivers to service Stittsville, Dunrobin, Kanata, Barrhaven, Nepean and the west end. The role requires a 2‑hour morning and 2‑hour afternoon split shift near the school coverage area.

You will transport students safely, conduct pre/post‑trip inspections, and help keep buses clean. Eligible candidates hold a minimum Ontario G class license (B preferred), have a clean driving record, and are 21 or older.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Ontario G license (B preferred).
• 21 years of age or older.
• Clean driving record with vulnerable sector screening.
• Sound knowledge of the Ottawa West region and surrounding areas.
• Ability to work independently.
• Available for split shifts totaling 4–5 hours (6:30am–9:30am and 1:30pm–5:00pm).
• Solid communication skills and successful completion of pre‑hire driving skills assessment.

Job description

Voyago is currently recruiting to fill an existing vacancy for School Bus Drivers for our Ottawa locations. (Stittsville, Dunrobin, Kanata, Barrhaven, Nepean and west end of Ottawa). This is a split shift (2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon) so being close to our school coverage area is essential.

Your role

• You are responsible for safely transporting what we call "the most precious cargo" to and from school.
• Ensure students' safety while boarding and exiting buses.
• Be responsible for performing pre/post‑trip vehicle inspections to ensure optimal vehicle safety.
• Help fuel and maintain the cleanliness of the bus.

Requirements

• You are safety focused.
• You hold a valid minimum full Ontario G class driver’s licence. Preference will be given to B class drivers.
• You are 21 years of age or over.
• You possess a clean driving record and a criminal record search with vulnerable sector screening.
• You have a sound knowledge of the Ottawa West region and surrounding areas.
• You have the ability to work independently.
• You are available for the required split shifts of 4-5 hours total, that could run: Monday – Friday between 6:30am – 9:30am and 1:30pm – 5pm.
• You possess solid communication skills. There will be a pre‑hire driving skills and radio communication assessment.

Your location

• We offer a competitive hourly driving rate $23.00 per hour.
• PLUS there is a $2000 retention bonus for qualifying drivers.
• You will be compensated for a 4 hour minimum daily split if you take the morning and afternoon for a full route.
• Opportunities are available with charters for extra hours.
