Job summary

Simcoe County District School Board in Ontario is seeking a Communications Disorder Assistant / Speech Language Assistant for a temporary itinerant position based in Midhurst. The role supports students with speech, language and literacy needs, under Speech and Language Pathologists, across several schools.

The incumbent collaborates in a multidisciplinary team to help students succeed academically and socially, with a 1.0 FTE (35 hours/week) schedule during the temporary period.

Qualifications

• CDA Certificate or equivalent diploma/degree.
• Relevant university degree or college diploma in human services.
• Ontario Drivers Licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide speech, language and literacy support to students individually and in small groups.
• Work under the direction of Speech and Language Pathologists within a multidisciplinary team.
• Service multiple schools as part of itinerant assignment and document student progress.
