Job summary

West Vancouver Schools is seeking a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst to work in a district-based, full-time term position. The role involves collaborating with school teams to strengthen student participation, learning, and well-being through evidence-informed strategies.

The successful candidate will lead function-based supports, coach educators, and contribute to district-wide training while partnering with families and community partners to promote inclusive education.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of applied behaviour analysis in inclusive educational settings.
• A strong commitment to trauma-informed, relationship-centred, and neurodiversity-affirming practices.
• Demonstrated understanding of autism and a broad range of neurodevelopmental differences and complex learning profiles.
• Experience developing behaviour support plans that are practical, sustainable, and implemented across school teams.
• Experience supporting students who use AAC, including collaboration with Speech-Language Pathologists.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams including teachers, EAs and therapists.
• Ability to coach, consult, model, and deliver engaging professional learning.
• Experience partnering with families in a respectful, culturally responsive manner.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to obtain Safety-Care Trainer certification and provide district-wide training.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and reflective practice.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with school-based staff to develop practical, evidence-informed strategies.
• Coach educators in implementing contextually appropriate plans across classrooms.
• Develop function-based supports that are sustainable and responsive to student needs.
• Facilitate professional learning across the district and mentor staff.
