Job summary

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams including teachers, EAs and therapists.
• Ability to coach, consult, model, and deliver engaging professional learning.
• Experience partnering with families in a respectful, culturally responsive manner.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to obtain Safety-Care Trainer certification and provide district-wide training.

Fulltime (1.0 FTE) Term position

District Based Position

Effective September 8th, 2026 until June 30th, 2026

The annual salary for a full-time position ranges from $63,347 to $116,190, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE.

Position Overview

Working within a multidisciplinary team, the Behaviour Analyst partners with school-based staff, families, district personnel, and community agencies to develop practical, evidence-informed strategies that strengthen student participation, learning, and well-being. This role is grounded in trauma-informed, relationship-centred, and strength-based practices, recognizing that behaviour is influenced by environmental contexts and serves important functions for the individual. Sustainable change is achieved through assessment-informed intervention, collaborative problem solving, and building the capacity of school teams to implement effective supports across settings.

The successful candidate is skilled at leveraging behavioural principles to support student success across settings, which can look like creating practical classroom strategies, coaching educators in the implementation of contextually appropriate plans, and developing function-based supports that are effective, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of students and school teams. This position also contributes to professional learning across the district by facilitating workshops, mentoring staff, and building the capacity of educators to implement evidence-based practices that promote student learning, participation, and well-being.

Required Qualifications And Experience

• Extensive knowledge of applied behaviour analysis within inclusive educational settings.
• A strong commitment to trauma-informed, relationship-centred, and neurodiversity - affirming practices.
• Demonstrated understanding of autism and a broad range of neurodevelopmental differences and complex learning profiles.
• Experience developing behaviour support plans that are practical, sustainable, and implemented successfully by school-based teams.
• Experience supporting students who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), including collaboration with Speech-Language Pathologists and school teams to embed communication supports for the school environment.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, Learning Support Teachers, Education Assistants, administrators, Speech- Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, psychologists, families, and community partners.
• Demonstrated ability to build the capacity of school teams through coaching, consultation, modelling, collaborative problem-solving, and the delivery of engaging professional learning. Skilled at applying adult learning principles to translate behavioural theory into practical, sustainable strategies that are responsive to the strengths, experience, and needs of educators, Education Assistants, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience working collaboratively with families in a respectful, culturally responsive, and strengths-based manner.
• Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across schools.
• Current certification as a Safety-Care Trainer, or equivalent, is preferred. Candidates who do not currently hold trainer certification must be willing to obtain certification and provide district-wide training in crisis prevention, de-escalation, and post-incident response and consultation within school settings.
