Job summary

The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka invites applications for a School Age Early Childhood Educator position at Forest Hill YMCA Before & After School Program in Midhurst. This part-time role focuses on nurturing, safety, and play-based learning for children aged up to 15 in a supportive team environment.

You will provide care, plan activities, communicate with families, and uphold the YMCA values while ensuring supervision, inclusivity, and flexibility within built schedules and ratios.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Current Standard/Intermediate First Aid and CPR (Level C) certification OR complete within 90 days of hire.
• Up-to-date immunizations as per local health guidelines and Child Care/ECER Act.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to children (toileting/diapering, first aid, medication administration).
• Supervise and ensure safety in groups of up to 15 children.
• Plan and implement play-based learning per YMCA curriculum.
• Communicate professionally with families, staff and volunteers.
• Create inclusive environments supporting children with exceptional behaviours or needs.
• Follow mission, values, and scheduling to maintain ratios.
