Job summary

Pomerleau is seeking a Planning Engineer in Lévis to help build and manage project schedules using CPM methods. You will participate in proposal scheduling, develop sequences, and monitor progress with project teams.

Proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Project, and TILOS will be valued, along with strong Office 365 skills and a civil engineering background. The role emphasizes accuracy, collaboration, and clear communication to support project delivery in a hybrid work environment, with growth

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or diploma in civil/construction engineering with relevant internships.
  • Experience in construction project management or planning.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Project or similar planning tools.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage project schedules, develop CPM on projects.
  • Participate in proposal phase scheduling and work sequences.
  • Set up visuals from schedule data and monitor critical activities.
  • Attend weekly project meetings and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Assist in resource loading, load curves, and project reviews.
  • Communicate issues and progress to the Team Leader for quality.
  • Collaborate across team members to ensure norms and accuracy.

What you will do
  • Work on one or two projects simultaneously (depending on the assignment).
  • During the proposal phase, participate in the preparation of the project schedule and work sequences.
  • Participate in the development of the Critical Path Method (CPM) on your projects.
  • Participate in drafting the assumption note and progress note.
  • Carry out schedule advancements at the frequency established by the project team and according to contractual requirements.
  • Interact with project teams and ensure that the appropriate stakeholders and data are integrated into the schedule.
  • Set up and maintain visuals extracted from the schedule data.
  • In the execution phase, monitor the actual performance of critical activities or those identified as risky.
  • Attend weekly meetings to monitor assigned projects.
  • Participate in resource integration and create load curves.
  • Take part in site visits and project reviews.
  • Report difficulties and successes to the Team Leader to improve day‑to‑day and the quality of work.
  • Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with other team members.
  • Carry out all other activities related to the Planning department’s planning and development.
This role could be for you if you have
  • A Bachelor of Civil Engineering or construction engineering, or a diploma in civil engineering or construction engineering.
  • Completed internships on construction projects (asset).
  • Significant construction project management experience.
  • Interest in Primavera P6, MS Project, TILOS or any other software planning program.
  • Command of Office 365.
  • Fluent in English (asset).
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Thoroughness and a drive for accuracy, precision and compliance with norms.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues clearly in spoken and written language.
  • Teamwork and collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Good judgment in decision‑making.
  • Self‑reliance, curiosity and resourcefulness.
  • Interest in new technologies and a desire to learn.
