Job summary

All Ontario Recycling (AOR) is seeking a dependable Scale Operator to join our Ontario operations. You will support day-to-day scale activities in our yard and office, ensuring accuracy and safety while handling vehicles and weights with care.

This role requires strong basic math, computer skills, and customer service, with a focus on teamwork and reliability in all-weather environments. Competitive pay, vacation, benefits, and RRSP matching are provided.

Qualifications

• General office experience is required.
• Cashier experience is a plus.
• Reading, writing and basic math skills are required.
• Comfortable using a computer with Microsoft Office to enter information accurately.
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods.
• Must be able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Able to work inside and outside in all-weather conditions.
• Safety oriented; very important!
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Experience in transportation, trucking or in an industrial yard environment is a plus.
• Experience with radio communication is plus.

Responsibilities

• Greeting customers and having good customer service skills.
• Operating a computer to record the weights of incoming and outgoing vehicles.
• Logging information accurately into a centralized database.
• Calculating costs for drivers based on vehicle weight.
• Working in our offices and yard scales.
• Supporting the team on the scale as an attendant, weighing trucks and updating reports.
• Sorting and processing metal scrap pieces.
