Our client is searching for an SAP Analyst to join their team. This role will be responsible for maintaining and evolving all aspects of an assigned portfolio of business applications, ensuring that the systems and applications are meeting business and technical objectives. A successful candidate will deliver technical support which includes the development, configuration, testing, implementation, integration and management of the systems and applications.
Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To
- Provide oversight, and day to day management of an assigned portfolio of business systems and applications to ensure the portfolio meets established business and technology objectives
- Serve as the operational support escalation point for risks, action items, issues and decisions
- Assign tasks and duties to service providers, as necessary, to ensure that tasks are met
- Continually evaluate the risk position of the applications throughout their product lifecycle
- Plan for and update the business applications as required
- Trouble shoot issues as they arise in a manner that is systematic, predictable and timely
- Liaise with other IT team members, suppliers and business contacts to resolve any raised issues
- Recommend updates and functional changes to provide forward looking and robust business solutions
- Work directly with IT team members and suppliers, as needed, to resolve and remediate specific issues that are impeding end user access and use of company business applications
- Lead the design of the applications and solutions and develop requirement specifications with direction from the Enterprise IT and Data Architect
- Ensure the architecture of each specific solution is in line with the company’s enterprise architecture and integration requirements
- Provide consistency in solutions by utilizing technology standards, selected product sets and leading decision and development practices
- Collaborate with the Reporting and Integration Architect – SAP/Non-SAP to ensure seamless integration between SAP solutions and the company’s non-SAP applications
- Work with Business Process Owners, and functional specialists in the business areas to plan, design and implement new functionality to support business users and processes
- Define and clarify business stakeholder needs and articulate them as requirements to support the solution design, build and the refinement of associated business processes
- Ensure a clear identification of business needs and translate them into corresponding detailed technical requirements
- Validate that business needs and required IT capabilities are captured
- Product detailed specifications and perform scripting, programming, and report writing as needed
- Create, implement, and refine scripts and tools as needed to support the solution
- Support the transition of product enhancements into business areas by ensuring the development of appropriate user training materials
- Following the defined IT Change Management methodology and working with the Change Coordinator and Quality Analyst, manage, organize, plan, control and monitor all tasks and resources required to achieve defined project goals
- Control project tasks throughout the life of an approved project, according to the company defined change methodology to ensure benefits, costs, quality, risks, scope and timeframes are met
- Lead testing efforts specific to system and functional testing of changes and updates to the assigned business applications
- Be responsible for creating and following testing scripts and documented use cases
- Working with IT team members, ensure the underlying integration, infrastructure and networks are configured and running optimally to support a new and changed business application
- Work with business subject matter experts, to coordinate user acceptance testing of changes prior to release into production.
- Review vendor invoices to confirm delivery of contracted technical services
- Collaboratively work with Enterprise IT Leadership to set development standards with IT stakeholders
- Work in collaboration with the company’s technology team and partners, proactively ensuring IT security is appropriately addressed across the technology environment
- Engage and work with security specialists as necessary
- Contribute knowledgably and proactively, to the security culture of the organization
Your strengths include:
- Post Secondary Diploma or its equivalent in Information and Communication Technologies or Computing Science
- 5+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated mastery in system administration and support
- 3+ years of experience with SAP Basis
- Experience in Security Design, Customization, Implementation and Auditing of SAP Roles and Authorization
- Working knowledge and experience with utilizing Agile development methodologies is an asset
- Working knowledge of computing environments, trends, and market players is preferred
- Ability to maintain excellent documentation while performing production support activities
- Strong knowledge of SAP Basis administration including system installation, configuration, and maintenance
- Working knowledge of HANA Database administration
- Working understanding of SAP architecture and integration with other SAP Components
- Experience of leading and executing SAP S/4 HANA and Fiori upgrades and patching
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously with agility to jump from project to project throughout the day
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to convey important information to diverse audiences
- Ability to work under pressure and work within tight schedules and constrained budget expectations
