Job summary

J&L Beef in Cloverdale, BC is seeking a part-time Sanitation Worker to maintain a clean, compliant production area under HACCP and CFIA standards.

The role involves high-pressure washing, moving products, cleaning duties, and working around raw meat in a humid, fast-paced environment. Training is provided, and night shifts are available. Unionized position with a progressive wage scale and benefits including medical, dental, extended health, life insurance and a company pension plan.

Qualifications

• Be able to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment (on-site)
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and be minimum 18 years of age
• Comfortable working around raw meat products (beef, chicken, turkey)
• Willingness to work in a wet environment with varying temperatures
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
• Previous cleaning experience including GMPs and WHMIS is an asset
• Attention to detail and ability to identify defects in product streams
• Ability to operate mobile equipment (power jack, forklift, scissor lift) is an asset

Job description

J&L Beef is currently seeking a Sanitation Worker for our Cloverdale facility, on a part time basis.

Responsibilities

• You would be responsible for ensuring the production facility is cleaned and sanitized in a timely fashion in accordance with HACCP & CFIA regulations.
• You could expect to be lifting and moving products from area to area, using high pressure hot water hoses to wash machines; clean-up tasks such as garbage removal and other activities related to food processing.
• You will need to be comfortable handling raw meat such as chicken, beef, and turkey, comfortable working in a humid, wet environment, and working in a fast-paced environment. Training will be provided.

Requirements

• Be able to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment

• Comfortable working in a wet environment with warm/cool temperatures.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
• Able to handle extended periods of static tasks with alertness

$19.91 - $19.91 an hour
