Overview

The Night Shift Sanitation Supervisor provides sanitation expertise to both production facilities. This position involves developing, managing, and continuously improving a comprehensive sanitation program that includes GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), Food Safety and Security, allergen program, chemical control, and outside contract development. Maintains recordkeeping to direct others to perform scheduled tasks efficiently and maintain the master sanitation schedule. Accompanies outside cleaning contractors on weekly plant inspections and during audits. Audits the performance of outside sanitation contractors.

Will demonstrate, promote, and exemplify the Company’s Core Values in Health & Safety, People, Quality/Food Safety, and Growth.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct plant-wide mandated training for PDC employees for sanitation and ensure cleaning contractors meet our training requirements.
  2. Ensure and audit completion of Plant Sanitation Audits, follow up with required corrective actions.
  3. Coordinate and prepare facilities for all audits.
  4. Identify equipment to be cleaned, plan cleaning phases, and determine the number of individuals required.
  5. Coordinate clean-ups, conduct inspections, and validations using swabs and samples.
  6. Maintain the master sanitation schedule, ensuring all tasks are performed and documented.
  7. Develop written cleaning procedures and SOPs for all plant equipment, and ensure training and updates are provided.
  8. Manage sanitation supply inventory levels to meet targets.
  9. Establish a tour route checklist for critical equipment and report daily.
  10. Manage damaged equipment during sanitation systematically.
  11. Ensure compliance with Food Safety and Quality Policies, including SQF, HACCP, and GMP.
  12. Support employee and contractor skills development, promote diversity and inclusion, and participate in training initiatives.
  13. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed, including Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures and corrective measures following audits.

Knowledge & Skills Required

  1. College or University degree in a related field (Food Science, Operations Management).
  2. 1-2 years of experience in Food Plant Sanitation, preferably with fresh and frozen ingredients.
  3. Understanding of quality standards.
  4. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and people management skills.
  5. Computer skills, budgeting, report writing, and problem-solving abilities.
  6. Analytical, modeling, and critical thinking skills.
  7. Good communication skills, both oral and written.

Working Conditions

  1. Exposure to temperatures above and below room temperature.
  2. Potential exposure to food allergens and cleaning chemicals.
