Job summary

GDI Services (Canada) LP is seeking a Supervising Sanitation Technician to oversee a team of cleaners in a food production facility. The role involves mentoring staff, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule, and maintaining safety and cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating 10-12 sanitation workers, managing inventories, completing documentation, and adhering to health and safety guidelines in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Food industry experience in cleaning a food plant environment.
• Strong communications skills (written and oral).
• High level of risk management and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to stay calm in stressful or high-pressure situations.
• Be flexible and willing to perform varying tasks.
• Pass a criminal record check.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a group of 10-12 sanitation cleaners in a food production environment.
• Supports employees to reach goals and mentors new hires.
• Ensure all daily, weekly and monthly tasks are completed as required.
• Provide leadership and instructions to others in a group to complete tasks quickly and effectively.
• Tracks material, tool, and inventory needs.
• Complete cleaning, safety, and other required documentation as needed.
• Clean areas/overheads require ladders, scaffolding, extension equipment or mobile elevated platforms.
• Complete all cleaning tasks as required. Both manually or using power scrubbing equipment.
• Maintains and conducts preventative maintenance procedures on floor machines, vacuums.
• Mechanical aptitude required.
• Capable of lifting up to 50lbs.
• Wear employer-specified protective gear, including two pairs of gloves, face/eye shields, aprons, boots, etc.
• Exposure to chemical cleaning solutions (with protective gear).
• Perform varying tasks while standing, lifting, crouching, etc. during extended periods of time.
• Follow all Health and Safety guidelines established by spec for this position.
• Cleaning large areas on multiple levels in an environment that is hot.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Schedule Hours

Full Time, Panama Schedule, 12 hour rotating shifts
