Job summary

GDI Services (Canada) LP is seeking a food production sanitation worker to uphold sanitation standards in a food‑manufacturing setting. You will follow safety and quality regulations while performing floor cleaning, machinery upkeep, and waste removal as part of daily duties.

The role is full-time with Panama Schedule, requires physical work including lifting up to 50 lbs, and involves wearing employer-provided protective gear. Training is provided and benefits begin after 3 months.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • Food industry experience and knowledge of cleaning in a food plant environment.
  • Strong communications skills, both written and oral, are required.
  • Steel Toe Waterproof Boots provided.

Responsibilities

  • Dry mops, wet mop floors and scrub surfaces using manual or power equipment.
  • Transport garbage from bins or compactor area.
  • Clean areas requiring ladders or elevated platforms.
  • Maintain floor machines and vacuums; perform preventative maintenance.
  • Follow Health and Safety guidelines in the workplace.
  • Clean large areas on multiple levels; work in hot, wet and humid environments.

General Description

A food production sanitation worker is generally responsible for maintaining sanitation standards in a food‑manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality regulations. Other responsibilities could be included.

TRAINING IS PROVIDED!
Schedule:

Full Time, Panama Schedule

Responsibilities:
  • Dry mops, wet mop (wash/scrub) floors. The washing/scrubbing of floors is done with manual or power scrubbing equipment,
  • Transports garbage from garbage bins or compactor area.
  • Cleans areas/overheads requiring ladders, scaffolding or other extension equipment to reach including Mobile elevated platforms.
  • Maintains and conducts preventative maintenance procedures on floor machines, vacuums.
  • Mechanical aptitude required
  • Capable of lifting up to 50lbs
  • Cleaning and sanitizing food production environment
  • Wear employer-specified protective gear, including two pairs of gloves, face/eye shields, aprons, boots, etc.
  • Exposure to chemical cleaning solutions (with protective gear)
  • Perform varying tasks while standing, lifting, crouching, etc. during extended periods of time.
  • Follow all Health and Safety guidelines established by spec for this position.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Cleaning large areas on multiple levels.
  • Required to work in an environment that is hot, wet & humid.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma

  • Steel Toe Waterproof Boots ($200 covered)
  • All other PPE Provided.
  • Benefits after 3 months.
  • RRSP after 1 year.
