Job summary

Blommer Chocolate Company is seeking a production cleaning associate in Campbellford, Canada. The role performs general industrial cleaning in production areas, operates equipment to keep floors clean, and assists with break relief and product changeovers as needed.

Responsibilities include washing walls and equipment, disposing of waste, and reporting any issues to a supervisor. The position requires staying on feet for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs, in a noisy, temperature-variant

Qualifications

• Must stand, walk for prolonged periods; climb stairs and ladders; able to work with heights.
• Lift in excess of 50 lbs on occasion; work in a noisy production environment with varying temperatures.
• Ability to report defects or issues to supervisor promptly.

Job description

Comply with all legislated and relevant laws and regulations for safety and quality including lockout tag out, GMP, HACCP, Allergen and Blommer specific policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform general industrial cleaning in production areas.
• Operate equipment to maintain clean floors throughout the building and production areas removing dirt, spilled chocolate, grease, debris.
• Empty trash containers and other waste containers.
• Wash and dust walls, equipment, tanks, ceiling light fixtures, ceiling vents, to remove dirt, spilled chocolate, grease, oil or any other foreign matter.
• Report any defective materials, spills or any issues that will take longer than normal to clean to supervisor
• Occasionally assist production with break relief or cleaning for product changeovers.

Physical Requirements:

• Must stand, walk for prolonged periods of time, climb stairs and ladders.
• Ability to work with heights.
• Regularly required to bend, stoop, reach
• Lift in excess of 50 lbs. on an occasional basis
• Work in manufacturing production environment - daily exposed to noise, variation of temperature - heat/cold

Safety, Quality and Hygiene Requirements:

• Ensure tools and equipment are in good working order; report any defective materials, missing or damaged tools to supervisor
• Comply with all legislated and relevant laws and regulations for safety and quality including lockout tag out, GMP’s, HACCP, Allergen and Blommer specific policies and procedures
• Must wear uniform, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hair net, beard net, safety gear specific to work activity, when on plant floor
• Will be trained in WHMIS, Working from Heights, Skyjack, Confined Space.

Pay range for this position is $20.00 to $22.00 per hour.
