Job summary

City of Kitchener seeks an Utilities Engineering Technologist to support the planning, design, construction and long-term management of sanitary and stormwater infrastructure. The role blends field surveying, CAD drafting and design, asset management, and project coordination.

Working with engineers, contractors, developers and residents, you will advance projects through all phases from preliminary investigations to GIS integration and record drawings for city asset databases.

Qualifications

• 3-year post-secondary degree/diploma in Civil/Environmental Technology.
• 2+ years in civil/environmental engineering field with solid fundamentals.
• CET designation or eligibility within 1 year of hire.
• Valid MTO Class G license and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Conduct topographic, construction, and as-built surveys for municipal projects.
• Prepare AutoCAD/Civil 3D drawings for sanitary and stormwater works.
• Review drawings, specs, and contracts for deficiencies and compliance.
• Support construction administration including submittals and change orders.
• Maintain project records, reports, and asset data.
