YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFE
We are looking for a Sample Receiver in 6660 Campobello Rd, Mississauga, ON L5N 2L9 CAN. Your mission will be to:
Support Sample Archiving and Warehouse responsibilities
Maintain accurate sample tracking, long-term storage, and compliant disposal across all post-testing stages. Collect tested samples from high-risk, low-risk, and ambient lab areas, log locations using barcode scanning, and store them in designated temperature-controlled environments (ambient, fridge, freezer). Monitor product-specific retention timelines ranging from 4 days to 5 weeks, and safely execute timely sample disposal.
Manage supply chain operations by conducting inventory counts, ordering, receiving stock, picking/packing supplies, and preparing outbound shipments with generated waybills. Process client return materials by thoroughly cleaning, sorting, and prepping coolers and ice packs for reshipment. Timely respond to internal sample retrieval requests, perform daily equipment sanitization, and provide operational support to sample inspection and lab teams as needed.

Sample Archiving Storage and Disposal:
Barcode scanning, LIMS/spreadsheet entry, bin placement across temperature zones (Ambient, Fridge, Freezer), and sample retrieval.
Management of product-specific retention timelines and safe disposal procedures for all sample matrices.
Warehouse & Supply Handling:
Safe physical handling and transport of heavy sample bins (up to 40 lbs); cleaning, sanitizing, sorting, and prepping returned coolers and ice packs.
Sort, pick, pack, and shipping tasks for client supply orders, including waybill generation, cooler and ice pack returns.
Within 6 Months (Full Reliability Required):
End-to-End Inventory & Logistics:
Conducting routine inventory counts, supply ordering, receiving, unpacking, department distribution, and coordinating daily opening/closing warehouse duties (cardboard sorting, cooler management).
Cross-Functional Lab Support:
Seamless coordination with Sample Receiving teams to manage daily workflow overflow.
Proficiency in LIMS project creation, manual sample login, WebOrder/EDI, Shelf Life/Stability. Other sample receiving/login workflows (eg. opening, closing).
YOUR PROFILE
Proficient with computer systems, demonstrating strong keyboarding and mousing skills, efficient navigation of software and file structures, and confident execution of data entry and retrieval in LIMS, Google Workplace, and shipping platforms to generate waybills and process orders
Demonstrated ability to safely, efficiently, and repeatedly lift, move, and transport heavy sample bins and materials (up to 40 lbs) throughout a full shift
Confident written and verbal communication skills in English to coordinate with internal lab teams, senior staff, and external clients
Ability to strategically identify information/data locations across electronic tracking systems, project sheets, SARFs, and shipping records to ensure accuracy and efficiency
Quick retention of knowledge and ability to understand and complex workflow protocols across various sample types and client requirements
Exceptional attention to detail in barcode scanning, sample logging, and compliant waste disposal in a laboratory environment
Strong organizational skills for inventory counts, stock sorting, picking and packing orders, and executing daily sanitization routines
High level of work production with the ability to prioritize, adapt to changes, and multi-task in a fast-paced laboratory environment
Energetic, positive "can-do" attitude; willing to do what it takes to get the job done both independently as a self-starter and collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Working Conditions: physical work environment, physical and mental effort, visual/listening attention and travel
Full availability for any shift, any day, including nights, weekends and holidays
Work with appropriate personal protective equipment is required (lab coat, safety glasses, etc.)
Frequent bending, lifting, and carrying of samples/containers is required
Must be able to lift up to 40lbs
Repetitive lifting of manageable weights is required
Must maintain an attention to detail over an extended period of time
Exposure to all types of food products (including allergens and raw meat/seafood) in varying conditions
Working around strong odours and noise may be required
Long periods of standing, and working on a computer
Long periods of sitting may also be required
Frequent walking between departments for sample transfer or coordination
Occasional exposure to narrow working spaces
Exposure to cold (walk-in fridge/freezers, seasonal temperatures)
Exposure to heat (walk-in incubators, seasonal temperatures)
Working with chemicals is required
Potential exposure to hazardous materials; use established safety procedures and appropriate equipment
Pay: $19 CAD per hour
