Job summary

ALS is seeking a Sample Processing Technician in Yukon, Canada, to join a global leader in scientific testing. You will process samples, maintain logs, and support lab operations while following safety protocols.

The role offers an on-site, full-time position with opportunities for growth and a comprehensive benefits package. Ideal candidates have strong manual dexterity, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team; lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long

Responsibilities

  • Sample Processing: ringing, sieving, crushing and splitting samples under supervision; load and unload drying oven.
  • Laboratory Operations & Maintenance: maintain accurate production logs; support lab cleanliness and layout tasks.
  • Safety & Compliance: adhere to ALS safety standards and PPE requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Work shifts: days and afternoons, including Saturdays.

Your work ensures that client samples are prepared accurately and efficiently so they can be analyzed and transformed into reliable results. What you'll do

Sample Processing:

  • Ringing, sieving (including International Soils), crushing and splitting samples under supervision
  • Load and unload drying oven

Laboratory Operations & Maintenance

  • Maintain accurate production logs and following established procedures to ensure quality cand consistency
  • Perform general leaning duties to support lab cleanliness and assist with layout tasks as needed

Safety & Compliance

  • Always Complying with ALS safety standards and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements

Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Manual dexterity for repetitive tasks
  • Ability to stand for a full shift
  • Ability to be clean shaven to ensure proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) fit
  • Ability to wear PPE such as dust masks and gloves
  • Occasional desk-based tasks
What we offer
  • Competitive hourly wage $25.57 - $26.57/ hour at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined by factors as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
  • Afternoon Shift Premium $2.00/hour
  • Days Shift including Saturday
  • Afternoon Shift including Saturday
  • Comprehensive Benefits package based on employment status
  • Additional vacation days earned with years of service
  • Educational and training support after 9 month
