Job summary

Primus Workforce Ltd. is seeking a Process Technician for our onsite operation near Weyburn. The role involves monitoring the test facilities process system, collecting brine samples, and assisting with equipment maintenance in compliance with MER, WSA, and MOE regulations.

You will operate brine processing equipment, record process data, and work 12-hour rotating shifts including nights and weekends, at an industrial site with PPE requirements. Strong teamwork and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (Grade 12) required.
• Experience with brine systems, solution mining, or process testing is an asset.
• Industrial/site experience with process/trades is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate brine processing systems within defined parameters using pumps, valves, filtration units, brine mixing equipment, and conveyors.
• Independently monitor and record flow rates, temperatures, pressures, and volumes.
• Collect, analyze, and log brine sample results following approved protocols.
• Assist with offloading salt from trailers to storage silos per procedures.
• Identify and report operational issues to the Supervisor promptly.
• Support lockout/tagout and minor equipment maintenance.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and area cleanliness.
• Drive to deliver samples or pick up supplies as required.
• Work closely with site team members; perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Location: Onsite– 55 KM SE from Regina, along highway #33.

Position Type: Full-Time, Shift Work, Day and Night shift (12-hour rotating shifts)

Position Title: Process Technician

This role includes monitoring and operating the test facilities process system and controls. The Technician will also be responsible for the collection and analysis of brine samples, as well as assisting with general equipment maintenance and keeping precise operational records in compliance with the regulations set forth by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources (MER), the Water Security Agency (WSA), and the Ministry of Environment (MOE).

Key Responsibilities

• Operate solution mining systems as directed in a specific range of process parameters. This system consists of pumps, valves, filtration units, brine mixing equipment, and a conveyor.
• Independently monitor and record process conditions such as flow rates, temperatures, pressures, and volumes.
• Collect, analyze, and log results of brine samples. Follow approved sampling and analysing protocols.
• Assist and oversee the offloading of salt from a transport trailer to a storage silo, ensuring that the appropriate procedures are followed.
• Identify and report operational issues, leaks, spills, or abnormal readings or conditions. Ensure they are clearly and promptly communicated to the Supervisor.
• Support the isolation and lockout of process equipment for maintenance and safely assist with minor equipment repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards through regular area cleanup.
• Drive to deliver samples or pick up supplies with company vehicle as required.
• Work closely and cooperatively with site team members.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma (Grade 12) required.
• Previous experience with brine systems, solution mining, or process testing considered an asset.
• Experience working in an industrial or construction site setting with process and/or trades experience an asset.
• Experience with HMI or production software an asset.
• Trades training an asset - specifically in millwrighting, pipefitting, instrumentation, electrical.

Required Certifications

• Class 5 Driver’s License
• Safety Construction Orientation Training (SCOT)

Working Conditions
