Job summary

Primus Workforce in Saskatchewan is seeking a Full-Time Technician to monitor and operate the test facilities process system and controls. This onsite role is on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including days and nights, located about 55 km southeast of Regina.

You will collect and analyze brine samples, log results, and assist with equipment maintenance, while following MER/WSA/MOE regulations. Strong teamwork and safe operation are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma (Grade 12) required.
  • Experience with brine systems, solution mining, or process testing is an asset.
  • Experience in an industrial or construction site setting with process or trades experience is an asset.
  • Experience with HMI or production software is an asset.
  • Trades training in millwrighting, pipefitting, instrumentation, or electrical is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Operate mining system and a defined range of process parameters (pumps, valves, filtration, brine mixing, conveyor).
  • Independently monitor and record process conditions such as flow, temperature, pressure, and volumes.
  • Collect, analyze, and log brine samples per approved protocols.
  • Assist with offloading salt from trailers to storage; ensure procedures are followed.
  • Identify and report operational issues to the Supervisor.
  • Support isolation and lockout of equipment for maintenance and assist with minor repairs.

Job description

Location: Onsite– 55 KM SE from Regina, along highway #33.

PositionType: Full-Time, Shift Work, Dayand Night shift (12-hour rotating shifts)

This role includes monitoring and operating the test facilities process system andcontrols. The Technician will also be responsible for the collection andanalysis of brine samples, as well as assisting with general equipmentmaintenance and keeping precise operational records in compliance with theregulations set forth by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources(MER), the Water Security Agency (WSA), and the Ministry of Environment (MOE).

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate solution mining systems as directed in aspecific range of process parameters. This system consists of pumps,valves, filtration units, brine mixing equipment, and a conveyor.
  • Independently monitor and record process conditions such as flow rates, temperatures, pressures, and volumes.
  • Collect, analyze, and log results of brine samples. Followapproved sampling and analysing protocols.
  • Assist and oversee the offloading of salt from atransport trailer to a storage silo, ensuring that the appropriateprocedures are followed.
  • Identify and report operational issues, leaks, spills,or abnormal readings or conditions. Ensure they are clearly and promptly communicatedto the Supervisor.
  • Support the isolation and lockout of process equipmentfor maintenance and safely assist with minor equipment repairs andmaintenance.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards through regulararea cleanup.
  • Drive to deliver samplesor pick up supplies with company vehicle as required.
  • Work closely andcooperatively with site team members.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience
  • High school diploma (Grade 12) required.
  • Previous experience with brine systems, solutionmining, or process testing considered an asset.
  • Experience working in an industrial or construction site setting with process and/or trades experience an asset.
  • Experience with HMI or production software an asset.
  • Trades training an asset - specifically in millwrighting, pipefitting, instrumentation, electrical.
Required Certifications:
  • Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Safety Construction Orientation Training (SCOT)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to recognize process upsets and communicateobservations clearly and promptly to the Supervisor.
  • Ability/desire to learn; self-motivated, enthusiastic.
  • Proficient with monitoring and recording process data(manual and digital).
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Computer knowledge an asset.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Solid problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a teamenvironment.
  • Physically capable of lifting to 25 kg and workingoutdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to safely perform the essential functionsof the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of his or her ownself, or the safety of others.
  • Able to climb stairs or ladders and work at heightswith fall arrest.
  • Able to independently commute to a rural worksite.
Working Conditions
  • Rotating shift work, including nights and weekends.12hr shifts
  • Industrial site environment with potential exposure to brine, noise, and temperature extremes.
  • Must always wear proper personal protective equipment(PPE).
  • Occasional overtime or call-in work may be required during the test phases or equipment issues.
  • Strict adherence to the site’s policy of nodrugs, no alcohol.
