Job summary

Primus Workforce Ltd. in Saskatchewan is seeking a Process Technician to monitor and operate the test facilities' process system and controls. The role involves collecting and analyzing brine samples and keeping precise records in compliance with MER, WSA, and MOE.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma and experience with brine systems or production testing, and may have trades training. The position is full-time with 12-hour rotating day and night shifts, onsite near Regina.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate solution mining systems within a defined range of parameters.
• Independently monitor and record process conditions (flow, temperature, pressure, volumes).
• Collect, analyze, and log brine samples following approved protocols.
• Assist with offloading salt from transports to storage silos and ensure procedures.
• Identify and report operational issues promptly to the Supervisor.
• Support lockout/tagout and minor maintenance of process equipment.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards on site.
• Travel using company vehicle to deliver samples or pick up supplies.
• Work closely with site team; perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Location: Onsite– 55 KM SE from Regina, along highway #33.

Position Type: Full-Time, Shift Work, Day and Night shift (12-hour rotating shifts)

Position Title: Process Technician

This role includes monitoring and operating the test facilities process system and controls. The Technician will also be responsible for the collection and analysis of brine samples, as well as assisting with general equipment maintenance and keeping precise operational records in compliance with the regulations set forth by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources (MER), the Water Security Agency (WSA), and the Ministry of Environment (MOE).

Key Responsibilities

• Operate solution mining systems as directed in a specific range of process parameters. This system consists of pumps, valves, filtration units, brine mixing equipment, and a conveyor.
• Independently monitor and record process conditions such as flow rates, temperatures, pressures, and volumes.
• Collect, analyze, and log results of brine samples. Follow approved sampling and analysing protocols.
• Assist and oversee the offloading of salt from a transport trailer to a storage silo, ensuring that the appropriate procedures are followed.
• Identify and report operational issues, leaks, spills, or abnormal readings or conditions. Ensure they are clearly and promptly communicated to the Supervisor.
• Support the isolation and lockout of process equipment for maintenance and safely assist with minor equipment repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards through regular area cleanup.
• Drive to deliver samples or pick up supplies with company vehicle as required.
• Work closely and cooperatively with site team members.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma (Grade 12) required.
• Previous experience with brine systems, solution mining, or process testing considered an asset.
• Experience working in an industrial or construction site setting with process and/or trades experience an asset.
• Experience with HMI or production software an asset.
• Trades training an asset - specifically in millwrighting, pipefitting, instrumentation, electrical.

Required Certifications

• Class 5 Driver’s License
• Safety Construction Orientation Training (SCOT)

• Ability to recognize process upsets and communicate observations clearly and promptly to the Supervisor.

Working Conditions

• Rotating shift work, including nights and weekends. 12hr shifts
• Industrial site environment with potential exposure to brine, noise, and temperature extremes.
• Must always wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Occasional overtime or call-in work may be required during the test phases or equipment issues.
• Strict adherence to the site’s policy of no drugs, no alcohol.
