Job summary

Purolator is seeking a motivated Salesforce Automation Developer (recent CS/SE graduate) to join the Technology Services team in Canada. You will work with Marketing Cloud specialists to design automated journeys, craft AMPscript-enabled content, and optimize campaigns.

You will gain hands-on experience with Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, and data extensions while ensuring data accuracy and governance across platforms.

Qualifications

  • Recent Computer Science/Software Engineering graduates welcome.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (Java or similar).
  • Basic knowledge of AMPscript, HTML, JavaScript and CSS.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and optimize automated customer journeys and campaigns within Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Develop personalized email and landing page content using AMPscript, HTML/CSS, and data segmentation.
  • Manage segmentation, audiences, and data extensions with data accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyze campaign performance and provide actionable insights to improve engagement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate objectives into technical execution.
  • Ensure accurate data flow and governance across platforms.
  • Use SQL for data manipulation, segmentation, and reporting.
  • Create multi-channel solutions with Marketing Cloud tools.
  • Maintain documentation and playbooks for scalability.
  • Stay updated on Salesforce releases and best practices.

Description

We are seeking a motivated Salesforce Automation Developer. This role is ideal for recent Computer Science graduates who are passionate about software development and interested in building their career on the Salesforce platform. You will work closely with experienced Marketing Cloud team members, developing custom solutions, enhancing existing functionality, and supporting ongoing platform innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and optimize automated customer journeys, email campaigns, and multi-channel marketing programs within Salesforce Marketing Cloud (e.g., Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio).
  • Develop personalized email and landing page content using AMPscript, HTML/CSS, and dynamic data segmentation.
  • Manage contact segmentation, audience lists, and data extensions while ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyze campaign performance metrics and provide actionable insights to improve engagement and conversion outcomes.
  • Collaborate with marketing and business stakeholders to understand campaign objectives and convert requirements into technical execution.
  • Work with CRM and data teams to ensure accurate data flow, synchronization, and governance across platforms.
  • Utilize SQL for data manipulation, segmentation, and reporting to support campaign execution and analysis.
  • Work with Mobile Studio, CloudPages, or Advertising Studio to create multi-channel marketing solutions.
  • Maintain documentation, campaign playbooks, and process standards to support operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Stay current with Salesforce platform releases, new features, and marketing automation best practices to recommend and implement improvements.
Experience
  • Recent graduate in Computer Science,Software Engineering.
  • Strong understanding ofobject-oriented programmingconcepts (Java, or similar).
  • Basic knowledge of AMPscript, HTML, JavaScript and CSS.
  • Familiarity withSQL or relational database concepts.
  • Curious, proactive, and eager to learn new technologies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Data extensions, data segmentation, and subscriber management.
Nice to Have (Not Required - we will train)
  • Exposure to Salesforce through coursework, internship, or personal learning.
  • Any of the following Salesforce certifications:
    • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist
    • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator
    • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Consultant (includes CloudPages, AMPscript, and multi-channel campaign management)
    • Equivalent demonstrated experience may also be considered.

Language Requirement: Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders. This requirement is justified by the nature of the responsibilities and operational needs.
