Job summary

IBM Canada Consulting seeks a Salesforce Architect to lead digital transformation efforts, designing Salesforce-based solutions for clients and guiding implementation from inception to deployment.

You will mentor teams, contribute to pre-sales activities, and ensure high-quality, scalable configurations while staying current on Salesforce innovations. A Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years in consulting are required, Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 8+ years experience as a Salesforce Architect or similar role, preferably in a consulting environment.
• Deep knowledge of Salesforce platform capabilities: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Commerce Cloud.
• Proven expertise in Salesforce transformation and strong understanding of system integration principles, REST/SOAP web services, and middleware.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of collaborating with clients and cross-functional teams.
• Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Certified Application Architect.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to translate business needs into technical Salesforce solutions.
• Serve as a billable Salesforce Architect, working with IBM Consulting teams to deliver client service.
• Lead pre-sales activities with client presentations, POC demonstrations, and proposal development.
• Lead technical implementation, configuration, and customization of Salesforce environments with a focus on performance, security, and scalability.
• Mentor junior team members and client teams, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development.
• Stay current with Salesforce product updates, best practices, and industry trends to recommend enhancements.

• Serve as a billable Salesforce Architect, working closely with IBM Consulting teams to deliver exceptional client service.
• Contribute and lead pre‑sales activities by participating in client presentations, proof‑of‑concept demonstrations, and proposal development.
• Lead the technical implementation, configuration, and customization of Salesforce environments, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.
• Offer deep technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and client teams, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and skill development.
• Stay current with Salesforce product updates, best practices, and industry trends to recommend enhancements and introduce innovative features.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Extensive experience (8+ years) as a Salesforce Architect or a similar role, preferably within a consulting or professional services environment.
• In‑depth knowledge of Salesforce platform capabilities, such as Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
• Proven expertise in Salesforce transformation and strong understanding of system integration principles, REST/SOAP web services, and middleware technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of collaborating effectively with clients and cross‑functional teams.
• Problem‑solving mindset, with a commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest Salesforce releases and trends.
• Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Certified Application Architect.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and Scrum framework.
• Background in a specific industry (e.g., Public sector, finance, healthcare, retail) could be beneficial.
• Demonstrated some project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced consulting environment.
