Leviton Lighting Canada is a manufacturer of industry-leading luminaires for both the United States and Canada. Leading brands include Visioneering, Certolux, Birchwood, ConTech and Intense brands. We manufacture a complete line of energy efficient and IoT ready lighting solutions for industrial, commercial, medical, institutional and architectural applications to name a few. The role will lead a team of industry leading Lighting agents under their responsibility.

SUMMARY OF POSITION :

We are looking to add a strategic, focused and results oriented individual to assume an sales position for the Greater Toronto Area . The ideal candidate will focus their efforts on growth by expanding Leviton Lighting Canada market reach and channels within the Greater Toronto Area.

The ideal candidate will have previous proven lighting experience with specific knowledge of the LED landscape. The candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate objectives and make presentations to a multitude of audience types including Specification, Engineering, Agents, Contractors and Distributors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential accounts
  • Identify sales prospects and call on both new and existing accounts to increase Leviton Lighting Canada’s sales and brand awareness
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals and sales contracts.
  • Develop the technical expertise necessary to sell Leviton Lighting Canada’s products
  • Identify and resolve client concerns.
  • Service customers in an industry leading fashion
  • Coordinate with inside sales staff to accomplish the work required to close sales.
  • Develop and implement special sales activities.
  • Report activities of the sales territory to the Regional Sales Manager
  • Participate in sales meetings and marketing events such as seminars and trade shows.
  • Visibility requires maintaining and providing a positive and professional company image.
  • Assist with the development and continuous improvement of the overall sales business plan
  • All other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Sales experience within the lighting industry - with emphasis on LED lighting sales
  • Good working knowledge of lighting controls and LED lighting
  • Experience with healthcare, institutional and correctional facility lighting would be an asset
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills as well as negotiation skills
  • Proven track record of high sales performance, including meeting / exceeding sales targets, or very recognizable sales skills with potential to enhance
  • High level of comfort in communicating with every level of an organization from top level executives to field personnel
  • Ability and desire to learn technically complex products, demonstrated by prior success
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with diplomacy & respect
  • Ability to be strategic and organized in achieving goals and targets.
  • Computer Proficiency and Strong practical knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint) & Salesforce (CRM)
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive business information.
  • Valid driver’s license & vehicle, and insurance
