Job summary

Federal Signal Corporation seeks a Sales Associate to drive growth in Western Canada through prospecting, new client acquisition, and strong relationship management. You will leverage a consultative approach to tailor solutions for clients in oil, gas, mining, pipeline, construction, and utilities sectors.

You will travel extensively, demonstrate products, and collaborate with the Sales and Business Development Manager to forecast and meet sales targets, while promoting our industrial truck body

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of B2B sales experience in manufacturing or heavy equipment.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Willingness to travel Western Canada and build long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and meet clients across Western Canada to drive sales growth.
  • Present product demonstrations and educate on value and after-sales services.
  • Forecast and analyze sales performance with the Sales Manager.
  • Represent WTB at trade shows and industry events.
  • Close deals and nurture ongoing client relationships.
  • Collaborate with product and marketing teams for customer feedback.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Travel extensively within the assigned territory to prospect, meet clients, and provide product demonstrations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the sales cycle, fostering trust and loyalty.
  • Identify, develop, and sustain customer relationships to drive sales performance and achieve organizational objectives.
  • Educate customers on aftermarket services, warranties, and technical support to highlight the long-term value of our products.
  • Initiate contact with prospective customers, building long-term partnerships through strategic outreach and relationship management.
  • In conjunction with the Sales and Business Development Manager conduct sales forecasting, analyze performance metrics, and align efforts with sales goals.
  • Perform market analysis to identify customer needs, pricing strategies, and emerging trends.
  • Act as the voice of the customer, providing valuable insights to internal teams to inform product evolution and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Support sales and marketing initiatives with strategic input and market feedback.
  • Promote standardized product offerings to maximize profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and association meetings to promote our products and expand brand presence.
  • Close deals with key clients, maintain ongoing relationships, and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with the product research and development team to ensure customer needs are met with innovative solutions.
  • Work closely with the Sales Manager and team to achieve shared goals and deliver consistent results.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong industry knowledge and a well-established professional network, with a proven ability to quickly understand and communicate the value of WTB products.
  • Demonstrated success in account development and management, with a track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Results-oriented, responsive, innovative, and strategic mindset.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively within Western Canada.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including relationship-building, negotiation, and communication at all organizational levels.
  • Valid driver's license and driver's abstract required.
Competencies & Skills
  • Minimum of 7 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in manufacturing or heavy equipment industries.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environments involving heavy equipment, vehicles, or similar industries.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in using CRM systems and sales tracking tools to manage accounts and performance.
