Salary Range: CA$140,000.00 To CA$170,000.00 Annually
Position Summary
The Sales Manager, Hydroponics will create greater awareness and familiarity with Profile Products and HydraFiber Coir, establish high-value customer relationships, initiate commercially relevant trials and develop those trials into paying, repeat customers. The role combines strategic account management, new-business development and disciplined commercial execution.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Commercial development and account management
- Serve as the primary commercial owner and sales contact for the North American hydroponics territory.
- Manage and develop existing customers while proactively identifying and approaching new strategic accounts.
- Build and maintain a qualified sales pipeline across vine crops, soft fruit and other relevant hydroponic opportunities.
- Develop relationships with growers, owners, crop managers, consultants, propagators, distributors and other market influencers.
- Prepare annual account plans and sales forecasts for priority customers and market segments.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms in coordination with the Global Business Leader Hydroponics.
Trial development and commercialization
- Initiate well-structured substrate trials and develop them through the appropriate stages toward commercial adoption.
- Convert successful trials into paid commercial orders and, ultimately, full-greenhouse business where appropriate.
- Maintain ownership of the customer relationship throughout the trial, including regular follow-up, documentation and coordination of next steps.
- Coordinate technical support when required. Detailed crop-growing expertise is not required, but the candidate must be technically credible, curious and able to recognize when specialist support is needed.
Market development and brand building
- Increase familiarity with Profile Products and HydraFiber Coir among professional growers and industry partners.
- Collect and report competitor activity, pricing signals, market trends and customer intelligence.
- Represent Profile Products at trade shows, grower meetings, conferences and other industry events.
- Support customer testimonials, case studies, trial reports and other marketing initiatives.
- Contribute practical market feedback to product development and go-to-market decisions.
Commercial planning and internal coordination
- Maintain timely and accurate customer, opportunity and activity records in the company CRM system.
- Contribute market data, opportunity timing and customer demand information to support production forecasts, lead-time planning and product availability.
- Work directly with Category Manager Cannabis as a direct commercial colleague and use technical support where needed.
- Collaborate effectively with marketing, operations, innovation and the broader Profile Products sales organization.
Essential Qualifications:
- Maintains an established and relevant network within the North American greenhouse industry.
- Working knowledge of professional vine-crop and/or soft-fruit production.
- Legal ability to travel and conduct business throughout both Canada and the United States.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel independently.
- Entrepreneurial and comfortable building a market in a growing business.
- Commercially driven while maintaining sufficient technical credibility with professional growers.
- Self-directed, disciplined and comfortable operating with limited bureaucracy.
- Patient enough to manage multi-season trials, but persistent enough to keep opportunities moving.
- Practical, transparent and confident when working with large growers and strategic customers.
- Collaborative and able to coordinate internal specialists while retaining ownership of the customer.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant commercial and horticultural experience.
- Demonstrated experience selling professional growing media, substrates or closely related horticultural products.
- Experience managing strategic accounts and developing new commercial relationships.
- Experience supporting product trials and conducting technically oriented sales conversations
- Experience using CRM systems, developing forecasts and maintaining a disciplined opportunity pipeline
Language Skills
- Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.

- Attendance at relevant North American trade shows and industry meetings.
- Occasional international travel, including GreenTech Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
