Position : Sales Chef

SUMMARY

The Affinity Group Sales Chef is responsible for planning and executing a customized sales strategy for their assigned operator accounts to achieve sales targets. This individual will have in-depth knowledge of our clients’ products and will build and maintain close relationships with decision-makers and chefs at all assigned operators.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Provide culinary expertise to specific national and regional accounts, clients, and staff.
  2. Develop menu presentations and solutions for all aspects of marketed products.
  3. Provide back-of-the-house operational and safety training, as well as product training to staff.
  4. Represent and demonstrate strong knowledge of all client products.
  5. Maximize sales potential with our clients’ products at every account presentation.
  6. Conduct recipe creations and menu ideation sessions, virtually or live in our Culinary Center, for assigned accounts.
  7. Develop and maintain strong business relationships with key accounts.
  8. Coordinate and set up at industry and distributor food shows.
  9. Support the Affinity Group sales team with culinary activities including in-field ride-alongs, recipe creation, menu analysis, product training, and tradeshow assistance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  1. Excellent organizational skills.
  2. Thorough knowledge of the foodservice distribution/supplier network.
  3. In-depth understanding of assorted products and their menu applications.
  4. Strong knowledge of marketing and product merchandising concepts.
  5. Excellent selling techniques and knowledge of foodservice operations.
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  7. Experience with CRM software.
  8. Strong negotiating, analytical, and managerial skills.
  9. Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
  1. Ability to perform essential job functions.
  2. Work may be performed in an office, warehouse, or restaurant environment.
  3. Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, stoop, or climb.
  4. Possible exposure to dust; ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds.
  5. Flexible work hours, including some weekends.
  6. Travel up to 80% within the territory; overnight stays may be required.
