Job summary

Staples Canada in Ontario’s Strathroy-Caradoc is seeking a retail teammate to deliver standout customer service, drive sales across furniture, technology and supplies, and uphold store standards. You will handle transactions at POS, support merchandising, and ensure a safe, welcoming store environment.

Qualifications

• 3 months to 1 year of prior retail experience (preferred).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and enhance customer engagement and satisfaction.
• Drive sales in the furniture, technology and supplies areas of the store.
• Set and achieve sales and margin goals with store leaders.

• Maintain Health & Safety, Asset Protection, and Privacy Policies.
• Engage with and sell to all customers using selling model to anticipate needs.
• Handle POS transactions, including shipping and marketing tools to convert customers.
• De-escalate complex customer situations and refer to a manager when needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe store environment with demo units clean and functional.

Specifically, you will

• Engage with and sell to all our customers by offering tailored products and services using all tools and techniques available in our selling model to anticipate and meet future customer needs.
• Handle transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• Calmly de-escalate and assist in complex customer situations to ensure their concerns are addressed effectively or refer to a manager/supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment by performing tasks like dusting, front-facing products, and ensuring demo units are clean and functional.
