Job summary

Staples Canada in North Bay is seeking a customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to deliver exceptional service and drive sales across furniture, technology and supplies. You will engage customers, promote tailored products, and help maintain store branding and merchandising standards.

This role emphasizes teamwork, safe store operations, and adherence to Health & Safety policies. You will process transactions at the POS, assist with planograms, and support managers in achieving sales and margin

Qualifications

• 3 months to 1 year of retail experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to offer tailored products and services.
• Handle transactions at the POS, including shipping and promotions.
• De-escalate complex situations and involve a manager when needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe store and ensure demo units are functional.

Specifically, you will

• Engage with and sell to all our customers by offering tailored products and services using all tools and techniques available in our selling model to anticipate and meet future customer needs.
• Handle transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• Calmly de-escalate and assist in complex customer situations to ensure their concerns are addressed effectively or refer to a manager/supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment by performing tasks like dusting, front-facing products, and ensuring demo units are clean and functional.
