Job summary

Staples Canada in Kingston, ON is seeking a friendly Retail Sales Associate to deliver outstanding customer service, drive sales across furniture, technology and supplies, and maintain store standards.

You will work with a team to achieve sales and margin goals, handle transactions at the POS, and keep the store safe and clean while upholding health, safety and privacy policies. Flexible benefits and employee recognition programs are part of the package.

Qualifications

• 3 months to 1 year of retail experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Specifically, you will

• Engage with and sell to all our customers by offering tailored products and services using all tools and techniques available in our selling model to anticipate and meet future customer needs.
• Handle transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• Calmly de-escalate and assist in complex customer situations to ensure their concerns are addressed effectively or refer to a manager/supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment by performing tasks like dusting, front-facing products, and ensuring demo units are clean and functional.
