Job summary

Staples Canada in Collingwood is hiring for a retail associate role. You will deliver exceptional customer service, drive sales across furniture, technology and supplies, and help achieve store goals while maintaining brand standards.

You will engage customers using selling techniques, handle POS transactions, and keep the store clean and safe. Retail experience and strong communication are preferred for this role at Staples Canada.

Qualifications

• 3 months to 1 year of prior retail experience (preferred).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle transactions using the POS system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• Calmly de-escalate and assist in complex customer situations or refer to a manager.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment by tasks like dusting and front-facing products.

Specifically, you will

• Engage with and sell to all our customers by offering tailored products and services using all tools and techniques available in our selling model to anticipate and meet future customer needs.
• Handle transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• Calmly de-escalate and assist in complex customer situations to ensure their concerns are addressed effectively or refer to a manager/supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment by performing tasks like dusting, front-facing products, and ensuring demo units are clean and functional.
