Job summary

Staples Canada in Maple Ridge is seeking a retail associate to deliver outstanding customer service, help drive sales in furniture, technology and supplies, and support store leaders in achieving sales and margin goals.

You will engage with customers, handle POS transactions, maintain store standards, and keep an orderly, safe shopping environment while working collaboratively with a team.

Qualifications

• 3 months to 1 year of prior retail experience (preferred).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage with and sell to all our customers by offering tailored products and services using all tools and techniques available in our selling model to anticipate and meet future customer needs.
• Handle transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• Calmly de-escalate and assist in complex customer situations to ensure their concerns are addressed effectively or refer to a manager/supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment by performing tasks like dusting, front-facing products, and ensuring demo units are clean and functional.
