Job summary

Clark Agri Service is seeking a Sales Agronomist to support growers with agronomic advice and crop plans in a defined territory. You will interpret soil tests, scout fields for pests, and collaborate with a team of agronomists to maximize service and sales. A valid driver’s license and agronomy experience are required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in agriculture and/or 3–5 years agronomy and horticulture crop input sales experience.
• Experience with vegetables, fruit and tobacco is a plus.
• Able to relate to people and promote products.
• Must be a team player.
• Willingness to travel and work in a rural environment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Certified Crop Advisor designation is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide agronomic support and advice to growers and prospects.

• Complete detailed crop plans with customers.

• Scout fields for weed, insect and disease control options.

• Maintain knowledge of brand products and services.
• Discuss practices related to products, pricing and initiatives with dealers, growers and community members.

Job description

A family owned business based in the Norfolk Area which provides inputs (seed, fertilizer, crop protection products) and custom application services to growers in the Norfolk, Niagara, Haldimand and Hamilton-Wentworth areas. We are looking for a hardworking, resourceful and results-driven individual for a full time, permanent Sales Agronomist position.

• Provide agronomic support and advice to growers and prospects
• Responsible for contributing to customer profitability as well as overall business profitability by providing accurate and label directed agronomic information
• Completing detailed crop plans with customers
• Interpreting soil and tissue analysis results with customers
• Scouting fields to assist customers with weed, insect and disease control options
• Sales agronomist work in a defined territory to develop and maintain customer relationships and become a reputable resource for crop production information and technology
• Effectively collaborate with a team of other Sales Agronomists to maximize services, information and sales to growers who want extensive technical/agronomic expertise
• Maintain a thorough agronomic and technical knowledge of brand products and services
• Speak to company practices as it relates to current/future products, pricing and other company initiatives with dealers, growers and members of the community

Requirements:
