Job summary

Clark Agri Service Inc. is seeking an Agricultural Procurement Specialist to lead regional sourcing, negotiate with vendors, monitor markets and secure essential inputs for Southwestern Ontario operations.

You will collaborate with farmers, suppliers and internal teams to optimize cost, quality and delivery while ensuring regulatory compliance and efficient inventory management. The role requires 2–5 years in agricultural purchasing or supply chain, a relevant degree, and strong Excel/ERP

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in agricultural purchasing, grain merchandising, or supply chain management.
  • Strong familiarity with Southwestern Ontario agriculture, crop cycles, and commodity markets.
  • Proficiency with ERP software, inventory management systems, and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing: Source, evaluate, and purchase agricultural raw materials, seeds, fertilizers, or machinery parts in alignment with company quality standards.
  • Supplier Relations: Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with local farmers, producers, and commercial vendors.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, delivery volumes, quality specifications, and timelines to maximize cost efficiency and secure supply.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor global and local commodity markets, crop yields, and seasonal trends to make data-driven purchasing decisions.
  • Logistics & Inventory Coordination: Partner with warehouse and logistics teams to track inventory levels, minimize waste, and ensure timely product delivery.
  • Compliance: Ensure all procured materials meet Canadian food safety, environmental, and agricultural regulatory standards.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a results-driven Agricultural Procurement Specialist to manage our regional sourcing operations. Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: College diploma or University degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in agricultural purchasing, grain merchandising, or supply chain management.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong familiarity with Southwestern Ontario agriculture, crop cycles, and commodity markets.
  • Tech Skills: Proficiency with ERP software, inventory management systems, and advanced Excel.
  • Communication: Exceptional negotiation, conflict resolution, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Travel: Valid Ontario driver’s license, as regional travel to local farms and supplier sites is required.
Preferred Assets
  • SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) designation or enrollment in the program.
  • Specialized credentials, such as a Licensed Grain Grader certification.
