Job summary

Greater Victoria Public Library seeks a Coordinator, Safety to lead our Occupational Health and Safety program and ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations across all GVPL locations. You will collaborate with leaders and staff to identify risks and implement preventive strategies while supporting investigations and fostering a psychologically healthy workplace.

The role reports to Facilities, Safety, Security and Risk Management and requires coordinating with the Assistant Director, People

Qualifications

• Experience leading occupational health and safety programs.
• Knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and GVPL policies.
• Ability to foster safe, inclusive, and psychologically healthy workplaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Library's Occupational Health and Safety program.
• Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and GVPL policies.
• Collaborate with leaders, staff, and external agencies to identify risks.
• Support investigations and promote a strong safety culture across locations.
