Job description

Peter Lucas Project Management is seeking a Safety Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a leading project management company, we offer a diverse range of projects, professional challenges, and learning opportunities to support your professional growth.

The Safety Specialist schedule involves working two weeks in, two weeks out, with 11-hour days. The responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate closely with the Construction Management Team (CMT) and contractors.
  2. Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) standards.
  3. Conduct regular workplace inspections emphasizing behavioral safety observations.
  4. Review Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs) and daily contact cards for accuracy.
  5. Provide or monitor SHEQ-related training and assess contractor qualifications.
  6. Participate in hazard assessments, safety meetings, toolbox talks, and project reviews.
  7. Perform site inspections and address health and safety issues.
  8. Lead investigations of incidents and ensure proper reporting and corrective actions.

Applicants should have at least 10 years of experience in a similar role, possess a CSO designation, and have formal investigation training. Valid First Aid certification is an asset. Eligibility to work in Canada is required.
