Job summary

LAURIN is seeking a Construction Labourer to join our Ottawa-area team. You will help keep a safe, organized, and productive job site while assisting with general construction tasks and basic carpentry under supervision.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and hands-on support to ensure projects stay on schedule. Candidates should be able to perform physically demanding outdoor work and obtain required site safety certifications as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in general construction labour and basic carpentry is an asset.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools and construction equipment.
• Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team.
• Strong commitment to health and safety with safety procedures.
• Physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather.
• Willingness to obtain site safety certifications and additional certs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform general construction labour and basic carpentry tasks.
• Assist with site preparation, debris clearance, grading, and material setup.
• Keep sites clean, safe, and organized to ensure hazard-free work.
• Transport, load, unload, and position materials and tools.
• Operate basic hand and power tools as trained and supervised.
• Assist with temporary safety measures including guardrails and signage.
• Support winter safety activities, salting and sanding walkways.
• Support winter heat operations with setup and monitoring of equipment.
• Perform dewatering tasks and monitor pumps and hoses.
• Assist with or operate skid steer (certification provided if needed).
• Support traffic control measures on site as required.
• Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting and carrying.
• Comply with company policies and health and safety legislation.
