Job summary

Superior-Cabinets in Canada is seeking a Safety Coordinator to work with our manufacturing team to promote a culture of safety and ensure policies and procedures are communicated effectively.

You will develop and maintain safety programs, conduct daily safety walks, deliver training, and coordinate incident reporting and return-to-work processes to support a zero-incident mindset across both facilities. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Excellent knowledge of current safety legislations.
  • Post-secondary education in a safety-related program or equivalent experience.
  • COR certification is an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all current safety legislation.
  • Conduct daily safety walks and identify PPE conformance and safety concerns.
  • Manage Safety Program and suggest continuous improvements for a zero-incident culture.
  • Develop, update, and review safety-related policies and safe work procedures.
  • Conduct safety orientation for new employees and contractors.
  • Conduct internal safety training and maintain training records.
  • Assist in job hazard analyses and periodic machine inspections.
  • Conduct safety audits with plant leadership and communicate recommendations.
  • Assist in root cause analyses on accidents and near misses and communicate findings.
  • Process incident documentation for work-related injuries and near misses.
  • Coordinate return-to-work programs.
  • Manage first aid kits and emergency equipment and ensure safety supplies are stocked.
  • Ensure safety records are current and update safety information stations.

Job description

Salary Range: $50,000.00 To $55,000.00 Annually

Objective: The Safety Coordinator works with our manufacturing team to promote a culture of safety. They build relationships with all stakeholders, ensure compliance, and ensure policies and procedures are expertly communicated.

Reports to: Health & Safety Supervisor

Direct Reports: None

Location:ManufacturingPlant

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all current safety legislation.
  • Conduct daily safety walks through both facilities; identifying PPE conformance, safety concerns, etc.
  • Manage Safety Program and suggest continuous improvements whiles identifying opportunities to promote a zero-incident safety culture.
  • Develop, update, and review safety-related policies and ensure safe work procedures are in place for all required procedures.
  • Conduct safety orientation for new employees and contractors, ensuring the information is current.
  • Conduct internal safety training and maintain an accurate safety training record.
  • Assist manufacturing employees to conduct job hazard analyses and conduct periodic machine inspections.
  • Conduct safety audits with plant leadership ensuring recommendations are communicated and implemented.
  • Assist in root cause analyses on all accidents and near misses and ensure recommendations are communicated and implemented.
  • Process all necessary documentation including incident reports for work-related and non-work-related injuries.
  • Coordinate return-to-work programs.
  • Manage first aid kits and emergency equipment and ensure safety supplies are adequately stocked.
  • Ensure safety records and documentation is current and organized and update safety information stations at each plant.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong Organizational skills.
  • Experience administering safety programs.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.

Education and/or Training:

  • Excellent knowledge of current safety legislations.
  • Post-secondary education in a safety-related program or equivalent experience.
  • COR certification is an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
