We are currently seeking a Safety and Compliance Manager to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring regulatory compliance, safety, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement, and manage safety and compliance policies and programs.
  2. Monitor electronic logs (e-logs) and ensure driver compliance with U.S. and Canadian regulations.
  3. Provide training on e-logs, pre-trip inspections, and regulatory compliance.
  4. Maintain up-to-date equipment and driver files, including Driver Qualification (DQ) files.
  5. Process, audit, and follow up on driver logs and discrepancies.
  6. Conduct collision and incident investigations; complete detailed accident/incident reports.
  7. Schedule and lead regular safety meetings and training sessions for drivers and staff.
  8. Monitor and manage company safety ratings (CVOR, USDOT, FMCSA) on a monthly basis.
  9. Complete WSIB filings and obtain clearance certificates.
  10. Conduct internal CVOR and DOT audits.
  11. Process and maintain CTPAT documentation.
  12. Review and maintain MTO and DOT inspection reports and schedule necessary repairs.
  13. Perform regular audits of driver CVOR reports and license status with the MTO.
  14. Oversee claims management, report incidents, liaise with legal teams, and mitigate claim costs.
  15. Participate in recruitment by screening, interviewing prospective drivers/brokers, and attending recruitment events.
  16. Lead onboarding, training, and orientation for new and existing drivers.
  17. Monitor maintenance schedules for company and owner-operator vehicles and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in transportation safety and compliance (U.S. and Canadian regulations).
  • Strong knowledge of CVOR, DOT, FMCSA, WSIB, and CTPAT requirements.
  • Experience conducting audits and investigations.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to train and engage staff on safety procedures and policies.
  • Proficient with electronic logging systems and safety management software.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
