Job summary

Township of Adjala-Tosorontio is seeking an Economic Development & Community Engagement Officer to advance economic vitality and community well-being through programs, partnerships, and events. The role involves coordinating initiatives, engaging with businesses and agricultural stakeholders, and supporting communications and grant activities.

The position reports to the CAO, supports Council priorities, and requires strong leadership, collaboration, and project management across municipal

Qualifications

• Post-secondary qualification in economic development or related field.
• Experience in event coordination and community initiatives.
• Strong written and verbal communication with report writing and grant writing.
• Knowledge of MFIPPA, AODA, Municipal Act and accessibility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of Economic Development Strategy with rural and agricultural focus.
• Coordinate Township-led events and support community events on Township property.
• Develop partnerships, pursue grant funding, and manage communications related to economic development.
• Support volunteers and community organizations, aligning with Council direction.
• Provide staff support to the Community Development & Events Committee and prepare background materials for Council.
