Job summary

William Osler Health System is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for General Medicine. The role supports less complex patients and requires current Ontario registration and BCLS, with general acute medicine experience preferred.

The position includes 8/12 hour shifts across days and nights, with a 6-month contract and CUPE union affiliation. The RPN will provide direct patient care, participate in interdisciplinary teams, and deliver discharge instructions.

Qualifications

• Current registration, in good standing, with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• BCLS required.
• Medication Administration certificate and patient assessment course required for RPNs graduating prior to 2005.

Responsibilities

• Safe nursing practice in all aspects of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
• Professional, patient-centered care to ensure patient safety and well-being.
• Providing care in a compassionate manner within a diverse environment.
• Responding to emergencies and communicating changes in patient health status.
• Providing health teaching to patients and families including discharge instructions.
